The Ice-O-Matic ICE0500HT is an ENERGY STAR qualified ice machine that can produce up to 565 pounds of half ice cubes in a 24-hour period. The ideal temperatures for your ice machine to operate are 50° water and 70° air. The cuber head measures 30 inches wide, and it will require a bin, beverage dispenser, or hotel ice dispenser of equal width or a larger width bin with a top adapter. Ice-O-Matic has designed the ICE0500HT with a top air discharge vent instead of a side discharge vent. This means that the Ice-O-Matic ICE0500HT does not require additional side clearance and so can be installed between in narrow spaces or other appliances. The ICE0500HT is therefore perfect for establishments with limited space and moderate daily ice requirements.
The Ice-O-Matic ICE0500HT produces Half Cube ice which is often used in dispensing applications or for retail beverages. Half Cube ice measures 7/8" x 7/8" x 3/8" and its smaller size means more ice per glass, which decreases beverage per retail serving. For installation, note that the Ice-O-Matic ICE0500HT operates with a simple 115V outlet. It also requires a water line in, and an external drain (either a floor drain or a drain pump) for purge water. Since it is an air-cooled ice machine, the unit will be more susceptible to drops in production when surrounding air and water temperatures increase. However, what separates this ice machine model from other air-cooled ice machines is that it makes use of Ice-O-Matic's top air discharge configuration. The Ice-O-Matic ICE0500HT uses only 19 gallons of water for every 100 LB of ice it produces. It has a limited amount of purged water per ice-making cycle.
Ice-O-Matic has incorporated its Harvest Assist technology in the ICE0500HT to help release ice from the evaporator plate surface more quickly, meaning the ice-making cycle is shorter. All of these efficiencies help the ICE0500HT become ENERGY STAR qualified. As an added protection, Ice-O-Matic has incorporated the antimicrobial compound called AgIon into internal surfaces that come into contact with water or ice.
