Weather is Heating Up: An Ice-O-Matic Cuber Head Will Help You Cool Things Down
Simple By Design
Ice-O-Matic ice machines don't include complicated electronic controls, LED readouts, or touchscreen displays. You may ask why they aren't keeping up with the technology trends and incorporating more user-friendly, hi-tech interfaces. Ice-O-Matic will answer you that they intentionally leave out such "bells and whistles" on the operator controls in order to focus on the technology that really matters - the components that reliably produce consistently high-quality ice. Their engineers and designers work on continually improving the performance of their evaporator plates, their compressor and condenser efficiency, and their ice harvesting process. Leaving out the fancy LED readouts or touchscreens means they can pour the most value into the ice making process.
That is not to say that an Ice-O-Matic cuber head is difficult to use without the hi-tech operator interface. Ice-O-Matic ice machines have the time-tested, simple intuitive design of their electromechanical controls which monitor water level, ice making mode, and internal diagnostics. The controls are easy to adjust and the components are individually replaceable (thus at lower costs) if you should require repair. You get an ice machine that simply makes the best ice in the best manner. And since there are none of those costly hi-tech interface components built into the purchase price, an Ice-O-Matic ice machine will cost less than a comparable competitor's model that includes the fancy displays.
Ice-O-Matic ice machines are more productive when you compare apples to apples for the cost. Here is an example: the Ice-O-Matic ICE0400HA is a 30" wide cuber head that produces 505 pounds of cube ice every 24 hours when your operating temperatures are 70 degrees Fahrenheit for air and 50 degrees Fahrenheit for water. At the time of this writing, IceMachinesPlus advertises the ICE0400HA for $2324.01. In comparison, the Scotsman C0530SA 30" wide cuber head produces 525 pounds of cube ice every 24 hours at the same temperatures, but is currently advertised for $2506.01. The Manitowoc IY-0454A produces 450 pounds of cube ice in the same time period at the same temps and it goes for $2582.50 on IceMachinesPlus. Hoshizaki's KMD-450MAH 30" wide cuber head produces 457 pounds of their crescent ice every day under the same optimal operating temperatures and is advertised on IceMachinesPlus for $2505.00
These are 4 comparable air-cooled cuber heads, same width, mid-range ice production models. Ice-O-Matic's ICE0400HA produces more ice than two of the three competitor models (between 40 and 50 pounds of ice per day!) and on top of that, costs less money than all of them. Ice-O-Matic considers this a major selling point - "More Ice for the Price!" And even though the Scotsman C0530SA makes 20 pounds more than the ICE0400HA, the price is more than $180 higher than the Ice-O-Matic.
Made In America
Lastly, Ice-O-Matic can truly boast that their ice machines are designed, fabricated, and produced here in the U.S. Since they first began in the commercial ice machine industry over 60 years ago, Ice-O-Matic has been determined to rely on American workers and materials. 98% of Ice-O-Matic ice machines are made in Denver, Colorado, demonstrating the "Made In America" motto with pride.
